My Husband (Ron) Needs A Liver Transplant ~ We’re Looking For A Living Donor

Below is the story my husband posted on Facebook today.

Well Facebook family looks like today’s the day I share my story…

Some of you know my story but I know many of you do not. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in 2010 and given 5 to 10 years. Rhonda and I have done everything we know to do to try to heal my liver. We’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars and hours and hours trying.

One HUGE plus of this whole journey is we learned about Kangen Water. We believe Kangen Water, an organic diet, infrared sauna, exercise, organic supplements, IV therapy, etc etc and of course the grace of God has kept me in fairly good shape. The problem is nothing has reversed the damage that was done from 25 years of hepatitis C.

So… that’s why I’m in need of a liver transplant. Rhonda tried to help me but they denied her for age. The age requirement is between 21 and 50 and she is 58. We’ve also had a handful of other people apply to be a living donor most of which were denied for one reason or another.

Less than 10% of the people that apply are approved. It’s a very strict process but then again that’s why Penn University Hospital in Philadelphia has over 99% success with this procedure. We still have 3 people in the testing process but would certainly welcome more.

I want to get the word out that you can be a LIVING liver donor. Surgeons will remove part of your liver and give it to the one in need and both people will have a full liver in 90 days.

The main thing I want to accomplish by sharing my story is two fold. First I want to be a voice for all the people out there like me that need a liver transplant. Not many people are aware that there is a LIVING liver donor program so I want to do everything possible to get the word out. And thank you to our dear friend from Victory Church, Anne Shannon, for getting my story on WGAL.

And second and MOST important is I want to give ALL the glory to God. This is not about me… He has brought me to this point for a reason. My life was such a mess before I gave my life to Jesus Christ. He has changed EVERYTHING in my life and I now live every day with purpose and passion. As a Christ follower, I have peace and joy even in the midst of a storm. As far a my healing, I know I WILL be healed whether it’s through a liver transplant or when I get to heaven and get my new body for eternity.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and thank you to the love of my life for walking through every day of this journey with me. I love you Rhonda with all my heart. ❀
