Need to shed a few pounds before summer?

Me too.  Seems to happen every winter… some extra pounds pile on. Ugh.

And since summer is right around the corner, it’s time to do something about it. One of the quickest and easiest ways to shed some weight is to cut way back on carbohydrates.

Once glucose from carbohydrates is no longer available for energy, we begin to burn stored fat instead and experience weight loss fast.

Focus on eliminating major sources of sugar and carbs while also increasing calories from healthy fats and quality proteins. You should see weight loss and improvement in overall health.

Guideline:
30% carbs
30% protein
40% fats

And check out all the benefits:

It’s pretty much a win-win. You will drop those extra pounds quickly AND experience better health.

It only takes 30 minutes a day…

Are you getting enough exercise?

I know everyone is so busy BUT…
the benefits are so worth the time
invested in at least getting outside
and walking every day.

And it’s so easy… no expensive
gym membership, no special
equipment needed and it really
doesn’t take that much time.

Did you know…

…walking two hours per week
reduces your risk of stroke by 30%.

…walking thirty minutes per day
reduces symptoms of depression
by 36%.

…a daily one hour walk can cut
your risk of obesity in half.

And here are more benefits:

OK peeps…
no excuses.  Get your sneakers
on and start walking.  Find a time
that works best for you.

Ron and I prefer to walk in the
middle of the afternoon so we
can get some sunshine at the
same time.

And remember, it only takes 21
days to form a new habit… you’ll
be so glad you did and your body
will thank you.

Have a blessed week!!!

Check out this short video I made
in our kitchen. This is without ANY
doubt… the next kitchen appliance.

It’s already in almost every kitchen
in Japan where this medical device
has been manufactured for the past

Need More Energy?

If you’re anything like me and you probably are… you can use all the energy you can get!!!  We all seem to have such busy lives and it’s NO fun if you don’t have the energy to keep up.

I thought my life would slow down after my 3 kids were grown… they are from 27 to 37. Well, now they’ve blessed us with 5 beautiful grandkids… it seems like we’re busier than ever. lol

We are so grateful for all the activities but obviously need to keep up our energy level in order to really be able to enjoy them.

Do your very best to stay on the same sleep schedule and try to get at least 7 hours of sleep per night.

Make sure you’re drinking enough water. The first symptom of dehydration is fatigue. And the healthiest water to drink is Kangen Water.

And finally, here are the best foods to help boost your energy when you need it.

Sunshine is also great for energy so get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sun whenever you can.

Until next time…
